This is a story about how people with the most possible differences became the best team ever. It all started with a coffee in the city center of Yerevan, and ended in Treviso, actually it is not ended.
Thanks to ‘’DNA’’ NGO, during 11-16 of November we participated in “Democracy our past, our present, our future’’ program which took place in Treviso, Italy. Our short, but very productive program gives us experience and knowledge not only about Democracy, but also about cross-cultural exchange and relations.
Firstly, we were surely satisfied with the topic of our program and its structure. As democracy has a huge role in every area of our modern world, it is important to explore it more deeply and we truly believe that there is no better way to do it than discuss it with representatives of other nations with different experience and ideas. Furthermore, we had a lot of group works, projects, discussions, that help us to develop our own point of view about Democracy during those days. In the end of program, we presented situation about democracy in our country, and due to our team work we did it in the best way. Besides that, it was interesting to see presentations of our new friends from other countries and to learn about democracy in their countries. We believe we can use that knowledge and experience in our further life.
Secondly, one of the most enjoyable and interesting parts of our program was cultural exchange. this kind of programs usually help youth not only with getting knowledge and experience about important topics, but also by changing your way of thinking. During program, we had a cultural evening, when we made presentation about national features of Armenia, we answered to the questions, learnt about other countries, shared national dishes and so on. All that experience shows us that we are living in a world with so beautiful and unique nations: all of them have something mutual,of course, something unique and interesting that is specific for that country, something funny, some tradition or holiday, and of course something beautiful that forces you to visit them. Now we have a lot of friends from all over the world, for sure we are going to visit them and they are always welcome to our country. Overall, there is no better way to feel yourself as a part of this world but to explore it again and again.
Thirdly, the most important thing that helps us to present our country and topic in the best way was our teamwork. At first, when we met in Yerevan in order to discuss technical part of the program, it was a little bit strange as we were as different as its possible, with different professions, habits, ideas and opinions. So, all of us were thinking how we were going to present Armenia if we had different ideas about it. But due to our differences and long discussions, it ended with the best possible group and team work.
People usually say that the best way to know person is to travel together. It is the best definition of a true friend because when you travel, play, study, cook, explore new cities together, you become some kind of a family that will last for a really long time.
To conclude, we can’t explain how thankful we are to ‘’DNA’’ NGO for this amazing program. We learnt and got experience about the topic, travel in the most beautiful country in the world, met new friends from different countries and became good friends in our group.
Sincerely Jasmine, Levon, Mery, Emilia and Mher
